What Information We Collect

We collect basic information that you provide when making a booking. This usually includes your name, contact details, number of guests, and any special requests. If you book through a platform such as Airbnb, the platform may share booking-related details with us. We do not receive your full payment information, as this is handled by the platform or your payment provider.

Why We Collect It

We use your information only for purposes connected to your stay. This includes:

• managing and confirming your booking
• communicating with you before, during, and after your stay
• meeting local legal requirements such as guest registration
• ensuring the apartment is prepared and suitable for your visit

How Your Information Is Stored

Your information is stored securely and only for as long as needed for booking and legal purposes. We do not sell or share your personal data with external companies or advertisers.

Third-party services: If you book through platforms such as Airbnb or Booking.com, those platforms handle your payment and have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their terms for full details. If cleaners or maintenance staff are scheduled, they may receive only the minimum information required to provide their service — for example, arrival time or length of stay.

Communication

We may contact you about booking details, arrival instructions, or relevant updates related to your stay. If you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter, we may send occasional updates about Friedrichshain and Seumi Berlin. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Analytics & Cookies

This site uses the following analytics tools, activated only after you accept cookies: Google Analytics 4 (G-4GZK9JCZ7Q) with Google Consent Mode v2, and PostHog for product analytics and session behaviour (page views, page leave events). PostHog data is processed by PostHog Inc. on EU servers (eu.i.posthog.com).

We also initialise a Google Ads conversion tracking tag (ID: AW-18085003112). Conversions are imported from GA4 in the Google Ads dashboard. Advertising storage (ad_storage) is always disabled regardless of your cookie choice — no advertising cookies are set.

This site uses Vercel Analytics, a cookieless server-side analytics service that records anonymised page views at the CDN/edge layer (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no client-side JavaScript). This operates on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): we have a legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site performance and monitoring uptime; this is proportionate because no personal profiles are created, no data is shared with advertisers, and data is not cross-correlated across users. Data is processed by Vercel Inc. under their Privacy Policy and DPA (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy).

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent) for Google Analytics and PostHog. Retention: GA4 data is retained for up to 14 months; PostHog per their standard retention policy. To withdraw consent, click the button below.

Booking & Payment Processors

When you book directly through this website, your booking data is processed by:

• Smoobu GmbH (Ackerstraße 76, 10115 Berlin) — our booking management platform. Receives your name, contact details, booking dates, and guest count. Data processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract). See smoobu.com/privacy.
• Stripe, Inc. (South San Francisco, CA, USA) — payment processor for direct bookings. Receives your name, email, and payment card details. Stripe processes data in the USA under Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). See stripe.com/privacy. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract).
• Gmail / Google Workspace (Google LLC, Mountain View, CA, USA) — booking confirmation and host notification emails are sent via Gmail SMTP using our own Google Workspace account. Your name, email address, booking dates, and payment reference are transmitted through Google's mail infrastructure. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract). Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter via the sign-up form on this site, we collect your email address solely to send you occasional updates about Friedrichshain and Seumi Berlin. A double opt-in process is used: after submitting your email, you will receive a confirmation email and your subscription is only activated after you click the confirmation link. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your freely given, informed consent). Controller: Remy Schneider, Seumestraße 8, 10245 Berlin (seumi@vanderlore.de). Retention: your email address is retained for as long as you remain subscribed and is deleted within 30 days of unsubscription. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter email or by writing to seumi@vanderlore.de.

• Gmail / Google Workspace (Google LLC, USA) — used to send the confirmation email and host notification. Processed under Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). See policies.google.com/privacy.
• Brevo (Brevo SAS, 55 rue d'Amsterdam, 75008 Paris, France) — EU-based email marketing platform used to manage the subscriber list and send newsletter emails, if configured. Data processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Data stored in the EU. See brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy. A Data Processing Agreement is in place with Brevo.

Embedded Maps

The Berlin with Kids page includes an optional Google Maps embed. The map is only loaded when you click "Accept & Load Map" — before that, no data is sent to Google. When loaded, your IP address and browser headers are transmitted to Google LLC (USA). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your explicit, per-click consent).
